WOO – HOO Honeymoon time! Oh my goodness, we were so excited to go on our honeymoon (who isn’t?)! Our honeymoon consisted of three parts (destinations):
Okay, so we actually got married six months ago, but since I just shared our wedding, I thought I’d follow with our honeymoon!
For Part I of this three part series, I’m going to share our about our time in Munich.
Our goal for our honeymoon was going to places neither of us had been so it’s truly a new experience/adventure for both of us. Although Ryan has been to Germany before (he studied abroad in college), he has not been to Munich. Ryan is also fluent in German (how cool, right?) and with his help and a group of friends in NC, I know a little too (enough to get by)!
We choose Germany not only for Ryan’s love for German bier and his family history there, but also for the fact that we are both very interested in WWII. Specifically because my grandfather (who is 97!) was in WWII as a medical doctor stationed in the Pacific.
So, let’s see Munich!
Where did we go? What did we do?
A central square in the City Center of Munich.
The English Garden
One of Munich’s oldest beer halls and breweries as wells a the most well known beer hall in the world.
(We were there 2 weeks too early…)
We took a WWII tour of the most famous buildings and locations in Munich in connection with WWII
To end our time in Munich, we went on a beer tour and learned all about Munich’s main breweries and the 4 ingredients German beer is made. Any guesses?
Both tours were given by The Thirsty Historian. We were taken on a private tour all over Munich for the entire day; splitting it up with the WWII tour in the morning and the Beer tour in the afternoon. It was our favorite day in the city. We learned so much and really enjoyed our time with Levi (the owner)!
